This day we rented the car. First, check out our car and the sexy model I got! The car looked nice, I did check that the air-condition was working. But, I experienced a lot of smaller problems with it. Handbrake was very strange (I was driving the first 3 km with it on...), the gear box had definitely seen its better days and the engine could have been a bunch of horsepower's more. Nevertheless, it did take us to where we wanted.
Check out my model with the car. Wouldn't you buy this at $2000 USD ? Well, we got insurance for it covering 18 M INR, 3 times the market value...

Anyway, we paid around $17 USD/day for this wreck, with good service (delivery and pick up at the hotel). I also got a Balinese insurance for around 1 day rent which eliminated the $1000 fee in case of an accident. Just to play it safe I paid it with my VISA Gold which has built in rental car LDW/CDW elimination and personal accident insurance. But I did get the receipt of the insurance, so I guess I'm a great customer to the insurance businesses, globally! I wish I was in finance...
First of all, you have to check out the painting as we got in our room. This is very Balinese and quite nice. At the mall in Denpasar you could buy paintings such as this at around 350 000 INR.
We made a stop at the local coffee shop. And, guess my surprise when I found out it was a Dunkin Donuts, serving the worlds best coffee. Good American style, actually a little bit strong, more like European taste. Mia really loved it, I never thought I would ever hear her say "I like Dunkin Donuts world famous coffee". But she did. Honestly.
The coffee shop was in Giraya, where we made an intermediate stop. I even found a bank there which could do Citibank ATM cards.

Mia got quite irritated: the service was slow, it took 30 minutes to get my spring rolls. But they were delicious and it was only 20 minutes away to Amed, we thought it was going to be 1 hour, at least.
Lazy dogs is something you will find everywhere on Bali. According to our guide book, this is one of the things which is not nice about Bali. We did not get bothered that much by them, but of course it would have been a clearer feeling if they weren't here.
