Notice to Guests

Dear guests,

Guangzhou, always names as the South Gate of China, is an important city connecting the country with the outside world. Due to the need of deepening reforms, expanding opening to the world and improving the city's transportation and environment, Guangzhou Municipal People's Government (GMPG) is determind to start the construction of Metro and other transport facilities. In order to collect construction funds from all possible sources, the 120:th conference of the 9:th Standing Committee of GMPG has approved that all kinds of hotels in Guangzhou (incl. counties under the jurisdiction of the city) are entrusted to collect extra charges for the above purposes from hotel guests from May 19m 1992. Therefore, GMPG has issued "Notice Hotels in Gungzhou on the Temporary Provisions of Collecting Extra Charges for Metro Construction (Suifu No. 33, 1992) and "Complementary Notice to Hotels in Guangzhou on the temporary Provisions of Collecting Extra Charges for Metro Construction" (Suifu No. 43, 1992).

The notices stipulate that the calculation standards of extra charge to be collected will be based on 5% of the actual room charge; and for those rooms rented as business offices, 5% of monthly rent.

Metro is a social service. We deeply thank you for your support and contribution to the construction of Guangzhou Metro and other transport facilities in the city.
