Fun stipulation
This rule was found in the rule book of the white swan hotel
in Guangzhou at June 29:th, 1997:
Stipulation Issued By Guangzhou Administrative Bureau For
Industry And Commerce
To safeguard the economic plan & order of the socialist market, to insure the normal
accommodation conditions of the people and to abolish illegal
economic activities which engage in hotels, holiday inns and
other reception accommodation houses, agreed to Guangzhou
Municipal Government, it is now stipulated:
- Any organizations or individuals, if not permitted by the
Local Administrative Bureau for Industry and Commerce and
if not have business licenses, are forbidden to establish
any managing organizations (stores, storage rooms,
centers for delivering goods, e t c) in hotels. And it is
not allowed to set centers in hotels for purchasing goods
materials and commodities and for peddling smuggling
goods.
- It is forbidden to go in for all kinds of illegal
economic activities in hotels, such as purchasing and
reselling approving documents, bills of lading, dispatch
lists and economic contracts for goods and materials.
- Unauthorized sales or purchases of foreign exchange and
unlawfully seizing possessions of foreign exchange in
whatever ways and by whatever means are prohibited in any
hotels.
- Any citizen who knows the unlawful activities belonging
to the above scope has his obligation and right to
supervise or to report to the local Administrative Bureau
for Industry and Commerce. Those who make meritorious
deeds will receive awards.
