We decided to leave Hong Kong by train using the famous KCR (Kowloon Canton Railway).
Here you can see me editing the visit dairy from Hong Kong.
First you will see a bunch of random photos from the train showing all the growth and construction going on in this area. You couldn't be anywhere without seeing cranes e t c.

Here we made it to the railway station. Last time I was here (1993) it was almost impossible to get out without fighting all the aggressive sales people. Now, we came out of the terminal and our bus-people from the White Swan hotel picked us up smoothly. Nice improvement!
Advertising for western brands all over the place. How about this one for Martell XO ?
Still a good mixture between old buildings almost falling down by themselves and the new skyscrapers.

Our hotel the White Swan is located on the old Shamian Island. This was the only open port of China for a few hundred years ago, I think it was in the 18:th century. At this time the place was named Canton. Now the island is home to many hotels and restaurants, and a lot of fun waste baskets!
A small park on the island.
Still people are hand carrying stuff. What a contrast with the Mercedes!
Our wonderful hotel, the White Swan!
As soon as you cross one of the many bridges from the Shamian Island you are in the real China. With lot's of noise, people and shops.
On our way to the open market.
